Bahamas Plane Crash: Four Family Members Die After Small Aircraft Disappears Off Bahamas
The Lamar and Sosa families are facing an unimaginable loss following the deaths of four family members who were traveling together aboard a small aircraft that disappeared off the Bahamas.

Those who died were Mario Lamar, 80; Lili Lamar, 79; Sofi Sosa, 28; and Christian Sosa, 22.

The four relatives had spent the long weekend together at Great Harbour Cay in the Berry Islands of the Bahamas before departing Monday for what was expected to be a routine trip home.

They were aboard a PA-34 Piper five-seat aircraft, tail number N212ML, and were headed toward Miami Executive Airport in Miami-Dade County.

Mario Lamar was an experienced pilot who had reportedly accumulated more than 40 years of flying experience. He frequently traveled between Miami and the Bahamas, where he maintained a second home.

His niece, Silvia Larrieu, described Mario as an extremely cautious pilot who took great care of his aircraft and kept it in pristine condition.

The circumstances surrounding the aircraft’s disappearance and the events that followed have left relatives and loved ones devastated as they mourn the loss of four members of the Lamar and Sosa families.

The tragedy has also deeply affected those who knew Mario and his family, particularly given his decades of experience flying between the United States and the Bahamas.

As family members come to terms with the heartbreaking loss, thoughts and condolences continue to go out to everyone affected by the tragedy.

May Mario Lamar, Lili Lamar, Sofi Sosa, and Christian Sosa rest in peace.
