Motorcycle Accident Maine: Motorcyclist Killed in Auburn Crash After Collision With SUV on Washington Street
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving an SUV in Auburn, Maine, on Wednesday morning, according to police,The crash happened at approximately 6:40 a.m. on Washington Street, Police said the SUV and motorcycle were both traveling southbound when the SUV changed lanes. The motorcyclist was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of the SUV.
The impact caused the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, to be ejected from the motorcycle. Police said the rider landed near a guardrail and died at the scene.
The motorcyclist’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
SUV Driver Not Injured
Following the collision, the SUV left the roadway and traveled into a wooded area.
The driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the lane change and events leading up to the impact.
