Elk Grove Motorcycle Accident: 33-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Crash With Honda CR-V on Lewis Stein Road

A 33-year-old motorcyclist died following a crash involving a Honda CR-V in Elk Grove, California, Tuesday evening, according to police, The Elk Grove Police Department said the collision was reported at approximately 6:14 p.m. at the intersection of Lewis Stein Road and Stockton Boulevard near Dracut Road.

When officers arrived, they found a Honda CR-V facing westbound in the intersection and a black motorcycle underneath the vehicle’s right front tire.

The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Elk Grove Motorcycle Crash Investigation

According to police, a preliminary investigation indicates that the Honda CR-V had been traveling northbound on Lewis Stein Road and was positioned in the left-turn lane to travel west onto Dracut Road.

The motorcycle was traveling southbound on Lewis Stein Road and was in the right-turn lane to travel west onto Dracut Road.

Police said that as the Honda began turning, the motorcyclist continued straight despite being in the turning lane, resulting in a collision with the SUV.

Video from the scene showed emergency crews removing the motorcyclist from underneath the vehicle.

The victim’s identity has not been publicly released.

Road Closures Following Crash

Authorities implemented road closures while investigators worked at the scene.

Lewis Stein Road was closed between Big Horn Boulevard and Sheldon Road, while West Stockton Boulevard was closed between Atkins Court and Michener Way.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation. Motorists in the area were advised to avoid the affected roads and allow additional time for travel while the investigation and cleanup continued.
