James Coyle Obituary: Laragh United GAA Club Mourns Beloved Senior Player After His Passing
The Laragh United GAA Club and wider community are mourning the heartbreaking passing of James Coyle, a much-loved senior player whose dedication, passion, and commitment to the club left a lasting impression on teammates, coaches, family, and friends.
James represented Laragh United GAA throughout every underage level before progressing to the club’s U20 and senior panels. His contribution to the team and his loyalty to the club made him a valued member of the Laragh United family.
News of James’s passing has brought deep sorrow to those who knew him. The club extended its deepest sympathies to his heartbroken family, including his mother, Majella; brother, Liam; sisters, Eleanor and Eimear; and his extended relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved father, Brian.
James will be remembered by those closest to him as a cherished son, brother, teammate, colleague, and friend. His loss has left an immeasurable void among those who shared life’s moments with him, including his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, work colleagues, and close friends, especially Cian, Shane, Ned, and Abby.
Throughout his years with Laragh United, James embodied the spirit of the club through his commitment, teamwork, and love for Gaelic games. His presence on and off the field made him a respected figure among teammates and members of the GAA community.
Following the announcement of his passing, tributes have poured in from the club and local community, with many remembering James for the person he was and the friendships he built throughout his life.
As a mark of respect, Laragh United GAA Club has postponed all club activities. Members will gather to form a guard of honour at St. Brigid’s Church, Laragh, on Thursday morning, with attendees asked to wear club colours as they pay their respects.
James will repose at his home on Tuesday from 6 p.m. for family and close friends, and on Wednesday from 12 noon, where all are welcome to offer condolences. His funeral Mass will take place on Thursday at 12 noon at St. Brigid’s Church, Laragh, followed by burial at Drung Cemetery.
