Callan Clancy Obituary: 8-Month-Old Duxbury Boy Dies After Being Found Critically Injured at Family Home, Remembered Alongside Siblings Cora and Dawson
Callan Clancy, an 8-month-old boy from Duxbury, Massachusetts, died on January 27, 2023, three days after he was found critically injured at his family home alongside his two siblings, Cora and Dawson. His death completed a devastating loss for the Clancy family.
Callan was born on May 26, 2022. He was the youngest child of Patrick and Lindsay Clancy and was only eight months old when he died. Authorities said he was found unconscious at the family’s Duxbury home on January 24, 2023, and was flown to Boston Children’s Hospital for treatment.
His older siblings, 5-year-old Cora Clancy and 3-year-old Dawson Clancy, also died after being found unresponsive at the home. The three children were later honored together at a funeral service in February 2023.
Callan Clancy Cause of Death
Authorities said preliminary findings indicated that the children had been strangled, while the medical examiner’s investigation was responsible for determining the official causes and manners of death. Callan’s death was investigated as part of the same case involving the deaths of his siblings.
The deaths continue to be central to the criminal trial of Lindsay Clancy, who is accused of killing her three children. She has pleaded not guilty, with her defense arguing that she was suffering from severe postpartum mental illness at the time. Prosecutors dispute that explanation.
In 2024, the Clancy family playground fund was established in memory of Cora, Dawson and Callan, providing a lasting way for the community to remember the three children.
Callan Clancy’s life lasted only eight months, but his memory remains closely connected to the family and community that continue to remember him. He is mourned alongside his siblings, Cora and Dawson, whose deaths brought profound grief to Duxbury.
