A family and community are mourning the sudden loss of Darius Allen, 26, of Racine, who died after being seriously injured in a vehicle-versus-pedestrian incident early Sunday morning, September 20, 2026.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 2:58 a.m. in the 500 block of Hubbard Street. Racine police officers responded following a report that a man had been run over and was unresponsive in the roadway.
When officers arrived, they found Allen suffering from serious injuries. Emergency responders transported him to Ascension Hospital for medical treatment before he was later transferred to Froedtert Hospital in critical condition.
