Sunway Lagoon Accident: 10 Injured in Roller-Coaster Incident at Malaysian Theme Park, Police Confirm No Deaths
Sunway Lagoon has been linked to a roller-coaster accident in Subang Jaya, Selangor, that left 10 people injured on Saturday night, August 22, 2026. The incident involved 22 riders, including Malaysian visitors and foreign tourists between the ages of 11 and 44.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 9 p.m. while the visitors were riding the roller coaster. The injured riders were taken to medical centres in the Subang Jaya area for treatment.
According to Subang Jaya police, all 10 victims suffered minor injuries and there were no fatalities. Police received a report about the incident at approximately 11:45 a.m. the following day and have since opened an investigation into what happened.
