A tragic single-vehicle crash in Mason County has claimed the life of 18-year-old Marlee Jo Alexander, according to authorities.
Investigators said Alexander was driving a 2001 Saturn passenger car westbound on the unpaved portion of Countyline Road when she lost control of the vehicle. Authorities reported that the car slid sideways off the roadway into a ditch on the south side before crashing into a tree.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following the collision. Despite their efforts, Alexander sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including what may have caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. No additional information has been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
