Illinois State Police reported that troopers responded at approximately 4:26 a.m. to the southbound lanes of Interstate 294 near milepost 41.5 following reports of a crash involving multiple Tollway employees. A preliminary investigation found that three maintenance workers were conducting pothole repairs when they were hit by a passing vehicle.
All three workers were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
