He was doing what so many dedicated property owners do when disaster threatens—standing alongside his home, determined to defend the place that held a lifetime of memories. Authorities reported that while operating his personal ATV on steep terrain near the north end of the Brewer Fire, Stacy was ejected from the vehicle, which overturned and pinned him beneath it. Friends who were with him immediately rushed to his aid, freeing him from the ATV and beginning life-saving efforts while emergency assistance was requested.
