Troy and Lisa Hagan Obituary: New Haven, KY Couple Dies in Tragic Accident as Community Mourns
The New Haven, Kentucky community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of James Troy Hagan and Lisa Ann Martin Hagan, a beloved couple who passed away together on Saturday, July 18, 2026, following a tragic accident. Their unexpected deaths have left family, friends, and the many people whose lives they touched devastated.
Troy, 52, and Lisa, 50, were high school sweethearts whose love story continued throughout their lives. Together, they built a family, a business, and a home filled with warmth, generosity, and memories. They were the owners of Hagan Construction, a company they built through hard work and dedication, and they took great pride in creating their home and farm from the ground up.
Those who knew Troy and Lisa described them as people who welcomed everyone with open arms. Their home, affectionately known as “Hagan Depot,” became a gathering place where friends and family could share meals, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Troy was known for his cooking, often bringing joy to others through his homemade meals, while both he and Lisa were always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed support.
The couple shared a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and spending time on their farm. Their kindness, generosity, and devotion to others created a lasting impact throughout their community.
Troy Hagan was born on April 24, 1974, to James E. Hagan and Janet Marie Devine Hagan. He was the brother of Robin Marie Hagan Milliken and Lisa Ann (Brent) Bowling. Lisa Hagan was born on June 24, 1976, to Michael Anthony “Jimmy” Martin and Barbara Ann Martin. She was the sister of Angela Gail Martin.
They are survived by their children, Kelsi Ann (Eric) Hagan and Michael Cole (Amber) Hagan, as well as Trevor (Brianna) Kitchen, whom they considered a son. They also leave behind nieces, nephews, their goddaughter Oakley Ann Kitchen, beloved pets Bell, Lilly, and Lulu, along with extended family and countless friends.
A memorial service celebrating Troy and Lisa’s lives will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2026, at Barlow Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. the same day.
The Hagan family’s legacy of love, faith, generosity, and community will continue through everyone who had the privilege of knowing them.
