The Dayton, Ohio, community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 18-year-old Kaylee Watkins, whose life was tragically cut short in an ATV accident during the Fourth of July weekend. According to her family, Kaylee was riding as a passenger on an ATV while spending the holiday weekend with her boyfriend’s family when the vehicle was involved in a crash. She tragically died at the scene. Despite the unimaginable pain of their loss, her family has emphasized that they do not place blame on anyone involved and instead hope people will come together to honor Kaylee’s life and legacy.

Her uncle described her as someone who “blessed everybody she ever encountered,” while her aunt said one of her strongest memories will always be Kaylee’s beautiful smile. A recent graduate of Kettering Fairmont High School, Kaylee was preparing to begin classes at Wright State University, where she planned to study early childhood education. She dreamed of becoming a teacher and was excited to dedicate her life to helping young children learn and grow.

Visitation for Kaylee Watkins is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 10, at Routsong Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow on Saturday morning. Donations are also being accepted to support Kaylee’s memorial fund.
