Investigators say a semi-truck driven by 68-year-old Miguel Angel Casanova was traveling westbound on County Road 504 when he failed to yield at a stop sign and struck Reyna’s pickup truck. The impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames, quickly becoming fully engulfed.

Reyna was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of the crash.

Casanova sustained minor injuries and was transported to Hendrick North Emergency Care Facility for treatment. Authorities later determined he was intoxicated due to an overdose of medication at the time of the incident.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and booked into the Taylor County Jail, where he is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the crash, including reviewing all contributing factors.

As news of the tragedy spreads, loved ones are left grieving the loss of Adam Lee Reyna, whose life was cut short in a violent and heartbreaking incident on a Texas roadway.
