Authorities with the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal crash occurred just after 3:00 p.m. in the 7800 block of Mullen Road. A passerby made an urgent 911 call after coming upon a horrific scene — a vehicle that had rolled over with a person trapped beneath it. Emergency dispatchers quickly alerted first responders to the severity of the situation.
Stearns County deputies, along with the St. Joseph Police Department and St. Joseph Fire and Rescue, responded to the scene. When crews arrived, they found the driver of the vehicle had sustained fatal injuries. Investigators said Strong was traveling eastbound on Mullen Road when he lost control while navigating curves in the roadway. His vehicle veered into the south ditch before he reportedly overcorrected. The vehicle then crossed the roadway, entered the north ditch, and rolled over in a violent crash.
Officials confirmed that Strong was partially ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and became pinned underneath, a devastating detail that highlights the severity of the impact.
