Randy Corrigan Shooting News: Longtime Employee Randy Corrigan Fatally Shot Outside Strongsville Costco in Chaotic Parking Lot Incident – Strongsville Costco Parking Lot turned into a chaotic and heartbreaking scene Saturday evening after a longtime employee, 61-year-old Randy Corrigan, was shot outside the store on Royalton Road.
Police say officers were called to the Costco at 16690 Royalton Road around 5:43 p.m. after reports of gunfire in the busy parking lot. Shoppers were still moving in and out when everything suddenly came to a sudden stop. When officers arrived, they found Corrigan lying on the ground outside the store suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began administering first aid while waiting for emergency medical services to arrive.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite desperate efforts to save his life, he was later pronounced dead. The news left both employees and customers in shock as the reality of what had happened set in.
Authorities confirmed the incident led to a large police response and a temporary evacuation of the store as investigators secured the scene, cleared the area, and began collecting evidence from the parking lot.
Police said a male suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting for questioning. Officials have not released the suspect’s identity and have not said what may have led to the violence.
Family members later identified Corrigan and described him as a devoted and hardworking man who cared deeply for others, especially his elderly grandmother, for whom he was the primary caregiver. Loved ones said he “did everything” for the people he cared about. A fundraiser titled “Help with Funeral & Grandmother’s Care” was started to support his family during this devastating time.
