Christian Bryant Shooting News: A 22-Year-Old Fort Worth Man Charged in Deadly Costco Shooting in Strongsville, Ohio – A 22-year-old man from Fort Worth, Texas, has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting at a Costco store in Strongsville, Ohio, that left a 61-year-old employee dead on Saturday evening. Authorities say Christian Bryant is facing a charge of murder and is scheduled to be arraigned in Berea Municipal Court on Monday.
The victim, identified as Randolph Corrigan, was a long-time employee of the warehouse store located in the 16600 block of Royalton Road. Police said Corrigan was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds after officers responded to emergency calls at approximately 5:43 p.m.
According to an investigative report from Strongsville police, Corrigan was allegedly shot between seven and eight times during the incident. When officers arrived at the scene, they found several bystanders attempting to provide emergency medical aid. Police immediately took over life-saving efforts before paramedics transported Corrigan to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. Despite medical intervention, he later died from his injuries.
Authorities said Bryant was taken into custody at the scene. In statements recorded in the police report, he allegedly “repeatedly stated that Mr. Corrigan had a knife.” Investigators have not yet publicly confirmed whether any weapon was recovered from Corrigan or whether he posed a threat at the time of the shooting. The circumstances surrounding the confrontation remain under active investigation.
Law enforcement officials have not released a potential motive, and it is unclear what relationship, if any, existed between Bryant and Corrigan prior to the incident. Police have emphasized that all accounts are being carefully reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation, which includes witness interviews and examination of surveillance footage from inside the store.
Corrigan’s death has left his family and community in mourning. He was described by those who knew him as a devoted caregiver for his elderly mother, with whom he lived in a Cleveland neighborhood on the city’s west side. Friends and relatives say he played a central role in her daily care and was known for his dedication and responsibility.
The incident, which unfolded in a busy retail environment on a weekend afternoon, also drew attention due to the presence of multiple shoppers and employees in the store at the time. Several witnesses reportedly remained on the scene to assist before emergency responders arrived.
Police are now urging anyone who was present during the shooting and has not yet spoken with investigators to come forward. The Strongsville Police Detective Bureau has provided an email contact for tips and witness statements as officials continue to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the shooting.
Bryant remains in custody as he awaits his initial court appearance. Formal charges have been filed, but prosecutors have not yet indicated whether additional charges may be considered as the investigation progresses.
