Jason Holland Obituary: Family and Friends Mourn Beloved Husband Remembered for Love, Kindness, and Lasting Legacy
I have struggled to write these words because somehow putting them into the world makes this unimaginable loss feel heartbreakingly real. Jason was so much more than my husband. He was my best friend, my biggest supporter, my greatest cheerleader, and the one person who knew me better than anyone else ever could. He was my safe place, my constant through every season of life—the joyful moments, the difficult days, the celebrations, and the heartbreaks. He was the love of my life, and I cannot imagine this world without him in it.
Many of you know that Jason lovingly called me his “Princess.” He also affectionately nicknamed me “Two Cent” because I always had something to add to every conversation. Today, for what feels like the first time in my life, I find myself without the words to express the depth of my pain. How do you summarize a lifetime of love, laughter, dreams, and memories into a few paragraphs? How do you explain the emptiness that comes from losing the person who made every ordinary day extraordinary?
The life we built together is woven into every part of who I am. Every laugh we shared, every challenge we overcame, every dream we planned, and every quiet moment spent side by side is forever etched into my heart. Those memories are now among my most treasured possessions, but they also serve as painful reminders of just how much has been lost.
I waited to share this news publicly because it was important to me that those closest to Jason had the opportunity to hear about his passing personally, rather than through social media. More honestly, though, I simply wasn’t ready. Writing these words forces me to acknowledge a reality I have desperately wished wasn’t true. It makes this loss feel permanent in a way my heart has struggled to accept.
Jason was a man who loved deeply and gave selflessly. He touched countless lives through his kindness, his unwavering loyalty, his sense of humour, and his enormous heart. He had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and cared for, and those who were fortunate enough to know him understand just how special he truly was. His absence will be felt by so many, but his love and the impact he made will remain forever.
Please keep Jason’s parents, Joe and Kathy Holland, his sister Sarah, his nephews—Cru, Chase, and Cohen—my children, Cameron and Baylee, our beloved fur babies, Jack and Delilah, and everyone who loved Jason in your thoughts and prayers. We are all navigating an unimaginable loss, and every prayer, kind word, and act of compassion means more than you could ever know.
Over the next 24 to 48 hours, I will share details regarding Jason’s celebration of life and funeral service, which will be held on July 28. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our family works through these incredibly difficult days.
For now, I ask only for your prayers—for strength to face each day, for peace in the midst of overwhelming sorrow, and for comfort for everyone whose lives Jason touched. Pray for all of us who are trying to imagine a world without his smile, his unmistakable laugh, his stubborn determination, his unwavering loyalty, and the unconditional love he gave so freely.
I know there will come a day when I can tell the countless stories that capture the incredible man Jason was. I know there will be a time to celebrate the adventures we shared, the memories we made, and the extraordinary life he lived. But today is not that day.
Today, my heart is simply shattered.
Jason, thank you for loving me so completely. Thank you for every laugh, every hug, every adventure, every lesson, and every beautiful moment we shared. Loving you was the greatest privilege of my life, and that love does not end here. It will remain with me every day for the rest of my life.
I love you, Jason.
I always have.
I always will.
Until we meet again.
