Bonnie Tyler Funeral: Bonnie Tyler Obituary, Death – Celebration of Life Service to Be Live-Streamed Worldwide as Fans Honor Music Legend
Fans around the world will be able to join in honoring the life of Welsh music legend Bonnie Tyler through an online broadcast of her celebration of life service.The “Total Eclipse of the Heart” singer passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2026, at the age of 75 in a hospital in Portugal. Her family confirmed that she died as a result of the illness for which she had been receiving treatment.
A private service for family and invited guests will be held at St Mary’s Church in Swansea on August 17, 2026. The service will be live-streamed on Bonnie Tyler’s official website, allowing fans across the globe to pay their respects and celebrate her extraordinary life and career.
Following the service, Tyler’s funeral cortege will travel through her hometown of Skewen in Neath Port Talbot at approximately 1:20 p.m. BST. Prior to the funeral, her coffin will be brought to her home in Mumbles on August 15, where members of the public are invited to line Newton Road and pay their final respects.
For those unable to attend in person, television screens will be placed outside St Mary’s Church so fans gathered in Swansea can watch the service.
Born Gaynor Hopkins, Bonnie Tyler rose to international fame with timeless hits including “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” “Holding Out for a Hero,” and “Here She Comes.” Her powerful voice and distinctive style made her one of Wales’ most beloved musical icons.
