According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau, officers with the Doral Police Department responded just after 7:30 p.m. to a welfare check in the Catalina section of the gated community after a request from a family friend. When officers entered the residence, they discovered four unresponsive individuals suffering from stab wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene and pronounced all four victims deceased.
Investigators have identified the deceased as Melanie Hyer, 46, and her daughters Savannah Whiten, 11, and Sienna Whiten, 8, along with 42-year-old Ryan Whiten.
